The Cottage - Self Catering Holiday Accommodation in West Wales

The former farm dairy has been converted into a snug, one bedroom holiday cottage, complete with beamed ceilings and some original, interesting ironwork features, making it the perfect place for your cottage holiday in West Wales. The cottage has a gravelled, fenced forecourt with garden furniture and planted tubs. The forecourt is also a safe place for your dog to relax (one well behaved dog is most welcome, at a small extra charge) as the abundance of wildlife can be quite exhausting!

The Gazebo containing your own 3 seater hot tub is situated, not in the courtyard, but tucked away in a secluded spot just around the corner overlooking the tree tops in the valley.

Briefly, accommodation includes a cosy lounge/diner, a well equipped galley kitchen with oven and microwave, bathroom with shower, and a double bedroom.  Luxury white towels and crisp bed linen are all included.

Enter the slate floored kitchen through a stable door which is lovely to open in the warmer weather. The kitchen is fully equipped with tableware, pots and pans, glasses and jugs. There is a full size electric cooker, microwave, slow cooker, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine with Aeroccino milk frother and a fridge with freezer compartment.

Double doors lead through to the lounge/dining room with a comfortable leather suite, dining table and chairs. Look out onto the old stable and granary through the window, with nearly three feet wide embrasures, at the front and over the fields to the rear. There is a TV, with DVD player and a DAB radio, a selection of novels and countryside reference books just in case you want to identify that fungi, bird or wildflower that you’ve not seen before! A Welsh dictionary is also amongst the books, as a translation of place names is often very interesting and informative.

A comfortable double bedroom leads off the lounge furnished with a double 4' 6" divan bed with memory foam mattress complete with crisp, white cotton linen and finished off with a traditional Welsh woollen throw woven at a local mill in Drefach Velindre.  It also has a wardrobe, bedside cabinets and a chest of drawers.

The bathroom has a good sized walk in shower, toilet, corner basin and extractor fan. All the linen and towels are provided, although we would appreciate you bringing your own beach towels in the summer months.

The cottage has central heating and double glazing so autumn and winter breaks are very snug (all fuel and power is included in the rent). Whatever time of year you choose to visit, we would like you to start to unwind as soon as you arrive, so there will always be a bottle of wine and goodies to welcome you, and, if available, some of our own eggs.

Please feel free to sit in the garden at the back of the cottage and watch the birds in the old apple tree or in the pond garden where there are newts and dragonflies. The little fence around the cottage is only for your convenience, to keep our piglets and ducks out, not to keep you in! We would love you to explore Blaenfforest and experience the peace and tranquility to be found here.

If you wish, we can do a small shop for you so there is no need to bother bringing groceries from home or dashing straight to the shops. Please telephone or e-mail to arrange this at least three days before you are due to arrive.
